Physician
Assistant, Dan Cadwallader, PA-C
Member: American Academy of Physician
Assistants, AAPA Member, Society of Physician Assistants
in Pediatrics
While spending the summer volunteering at a missionary
hospital in Limbé, Haiti 25 years ago, Dan had
the unique opportunity of experiencing firsthand the
enormous impact a group of dedicated people could make
in the lives of others, as well as their own. After
that summer in Haiti, he devoted himself to becoming
a Physician Assistant and soon found himself at one
of the country’s premier PA programs.
Just prior to completing the program, he returned
to that same hospital in Haiti. This was during the
late 1980’s and the AIDS epidemic had exploded,
as did Haiti’s tumultuous political situation,
heaping more suffering on this desperately impoverished
nation. “In spite of these hardships, I found
that the hospital staff and its international volunteers
of doctors and nurses remained steadfast in their resolve
to improve an impossible situation. This dedication
left an indelible mark on my heart and shaped my understanding
of stewardship. Now, twenty years later, I feel I am
part of another tremendous organization at Children’s
Medical Center of Tucson. Here again are a diverse group
of individuals working as a team to serve our community’s
children.” Dan feels that being given charge of
that which is most precious to someone – their
child – “is the highest honor and a monumental
responsibility.”
Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and son. “The
three of us love to play, read and ride bikes.”
He also enjoys writing and hopes to one day publish
several of the children’s books he has written. |
